Since 2005, the Women’s Imaging Center at Piedmont Fayette Hospital has offered residents a dedicated staff of certified radiologists, mammography technologists, patient representatives and support personnel working together and using the latest equipment and techniques to achieve early diagnosis and optimal treatment.

Piedmont Fayette Hospital completed its most recent expansion project in 2006. The new Maternity Center boasts three private birthing suites allowing each new mother to labor, deliver and recover all in one room. In addition, there are two surgical rooms for caesarean sections and seven private rooms for postpartum care. Over 1,000 babies were born at the Maternity Center in the first 9 months since it opened.

Piedmont Newnan Hospital

There are many changes in store for Piedmont Newnan Hospital. In 2007, Piedmont Healthcare signed a purchase agreement to acquire property for the new Piedmont Newnan Hospital, which will be located on Poplar Road at the I-85 overpass, centrally located for Coweta County residents. Planning is well underway for the new facility.

In the meantime, however, residents of Coweta County and the surrounding area are still receiving the best healthcare available at PNH, a 143-bed acute care hospital with a complete range of medical/surgical services that includes laparoscopic surgery, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, sleep studies and cardiac catheterization and rehabilitation.

Diagnostic services include CT, nuclear medicine, MRI, PET, ultrasound and fluoroscopy. Some of the other services at PNH include a Health & Fitness Center, Imaging & Diagnostics, Nursing & Rehabilitation Services, Sleep Center, Summit Pharmacy, The Center for Women & Children and Wound Treatment & Hyperbaric Center.

Southern Regional Health System

A premier resource for state-of-the-art medical care, Southern Regional Health System is the largest healthcare entity on the Southside. The not-for-profit, community based healthcare provider is on the cutting edge of medical technology and continues to expand services to meet the growing health care needs of the community.

The Southern Crescent’s only accredited chest pain center is at Southern Regional, with a 24-hour cardiac catheterization lab, as well as angiograms, angioplasty, cardioversion, pacemakers, defibrillators, stenting, surgical and nonsurgical vascular intervention, comprehensive heart treatment programs, cardiac rehabilitation and nutrition counseling.

The Women’s Life Center at Southern Regional is a state-of-the-art facility. The Surgical Services Department is state of the art and designed to handle both minor and major procedures. As a Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Surgery, various minimally invasive procedures are provided, in addition to general surgery. Surgical Services also includes the Center for Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine for the treatment of problematic wounds and the new Heartburn Treatment Center of Atlanta which provides comprehensive patient education, diagnosis and treatment of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD). First-rate Diagnostic Imaging and Ortho/Neuro/Rehab services are also found at Southern Regional Health System.

South Fulton Medical Center

Though originally founded in 1963, South Fulton Medical Center (SFMC) was acquired by Tenet Healthcare in 2001. The 338-bed facility has undergone extensive renovations including new patient-care technology with a new 16-slice CT (computed tomography) Scanner, a new $8.5 million emergency department, a new senior care clinic, a new interventional angiography suite and a newly renovated outpatient surgical unit and women’s center as well as other improvements and additions.

SFMC has also opened Outpatient Imaging & Specialty Care at Camp Creek, which provides advanced diagnostic imaging services. The services include digital mammography, diagnostic radiology/x-ray, ultrasound, as well as an Open MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), which is especially patient-friendly for those who may be claustrophobic or overweight. In addition, the imaging center provides bone density scans and CT scans.

South Fulton Medical Center is a community hospital committed to providing needed healthcare services to the communities it serves. The hospital offers extensive outpatient services, as well as same-day surgical services—all in addition to its wide range of acute inpatient services.

Alpha Internal Medicine

Through their generosity, clinic patients can also receive prescription drugs from an on-site pharmacy, health education and referrals to specialists and hospitals for lab test, x-rays, surgery and other services—all free of charge.
